The Quirindi Rural Heritage village & Miniature Railway

The Heritage Village & Railway are on 18 acres, 3 km from Quirindi on the Gunnedah Road(Kamilaroi Hwy). In the heart of the rich farming area - the Liverpool Plains, North West NSW. 

The village is designed to collect, preserve, restore & exhibit artifacts that relate to the history, heritage & culture of the Liverpool Plains. The Village incorporates:-

Federation Pavilion - diplays of Aboriginal culture & early settlement days. Rooms set up to depict life in pioneer cottages & shops. Sulkies, half penny bicycles, antique movie cameras even a dentist chair. There is an elaborate working model Tramway & model Trains, tracks & villages.

Coffee Shop - open Fri, Sat & Sun 10am -4pm. Delicious home baked slices, cakes, scones, light lunches, Vittoria Coffee, cold drinks.

Miniature Railway, Station & Ticket box, steaming bay, & turn tables, bridge & tunnel on 800 metres of track around the lake with water birds.Trains run every fourth Sunday & for occassions like Birthday parties, bus tours, Christmas parties.

Tractor pavillion - tractors, engines, saddlery, shearing & a working scale model Kenworth truck.

Machinery pavilion - Fire engines, harvesters, drays, bullock wagons, grain grinders etc

Blacksmiths shed - The forge fires up on the third Sunday each month.

Blackville Church & Maids quarters - restoration in progess. Will be exhibition venues.

Mens Shed group - every Thursday, building, restoring, fixing, chatting over damper & tea.

Art Exhibition - annual event, 4 weekends in Nov. Paintings, photography, pyrography, wood turning, Australian cartoons

Classic Car Club - annual Show & Shine events, displays at the Rally & day trips.

RALLY & SWAP MEET - annual major event first full weekend in MAY. Museum tours & Coffee shop. Main street parade, Tractor trek, tractor events, Brass Band, 120 antique & craft market stalls, Rally Dinner & entertainment, Wood Chop, antique cars & trucks, bikes. Miniature trains rides,model trams, model trains. Woodturning, weaving, spinning.

Carols by candlelight at Christmas - Miniature train rides, BBQ, Music

School visits, work experience teams, special events

Bus tour groups visit throughout the year & are most welcome

Heritage Village Museum  - 10am -4pm every FRI, SAT & SUN (plus other times by appointment)

Coffee Shop - 10am - 4pm every FRI, SAT & SUN (plus other times by appointment)

Miniature Railway - 10am -3pm every 4th Sunday (plus other times by appointment)

Men's Shed group - 9am - 4pm every Thursday all year round

Blacksmith's group - 9am - 4pm every 3rd Sunday, all day

Classic Car Club - annual Show & Shine, Rally display & trips.

Art Exhibition - 10am - 4pm every FRI, SAT & SUN in November

Carols by Candle Light - 5 PM - first Sunday in December each year
