4Eva Keepsakes Gunnedah is an antique, upcycling, handcrafted store where we have combined our love of art and craft into our workshops that are inclusive for all. Our workshops vary from leadlighting to jewellery making, upcycling, cardmaking, scrapbooking, mixed media, painting, tie dying, alcohol inks and much more. Our rustic garden with its standard roses is a tranquil setting for our workshops, functions and markets. Our motto is: "Warning: Having R&R with creativity thrown in can be addictive!"

Gunnedah Rural Museum

The Gunnedah Rural Museum is one of Australia's largest collections of early agriculture, industrial history and transport memorabilia. The museum covers an area of more the 14,000 square metres and has in excess of 23,000 items on display. Allow plenty of time for your visit to wander through the exhibits and collections. The museum houses tractors, steam engines, antique farm machinery, horse drawn and motorised vehicles, household items, antique firearms, blacksmithing tools, toys, McDonagh model railway, shearing display, crafts and gift shop. A well stocked souvenir gift shop is located on site. The museum has ample parking space out front available for cars with caravans, motor homes and visiting coach groups.

Diamond Dance Studio, located in Gunnedah, offers dance classes for ages 5 and up, including an adults' recreational class. DDS caters for a range of skill levels, offering both group and private lessons in a fun and enjoyable environment. Throughout the year, DDS attends various competitions, including the Narrabri, Tamworth and Gunnedah Eisteddfods. Studio owner Lucy has danced herself for 18 years, and has been teaching for five years in a range of styles.

The Mackellar Centre

The Mackellar Centre

A purpose built multifunctional facility dedicated to arts, culture, literature and history. This is a space to explore the Dorothea Mackellar story and the home of the poetry awards. This landmark is located in Gunnedah, north-west New South Wales, and can be found in South Street (Anzac Park). The centre offers an opportunity to take poetry lovers from far and wide on a journey into this “wordy” world. Experience the poetry of Dorothea Mackellar in the town that has inspired some of her works. The centre also houses the extensive archives and records of the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards and the headquarters of the national poetry competition. The Jean Isherwood Water Colour Collection depicting verses of ‘My Country’ is displayed in the Bill Clegg Wing of the Mackellar Centre and is worth a special visit.

Gunnedah Water Tower Museum

Gunnedah Water Tower Museum

The Water Tower Museum opens doors to the shire’s past and current history … in word and pictures. The museum has countless photographic images in its files along with a display of watercolours and drawings by the late John McDonagh who painted the town’s historic buildings and monuments. There is a collection of beautiful gowns and the top floor features a mural of the early Indigenous history and the arrival of European explorers. The external walls feature two large murals honouring our Vietnam War veterans by artist Jenny McCracken and are part of the Australian Silo Art Trail.

Gunnedah’s Cultural Precinct is a multi-purpose Arts, performance and community space which houses the Civic Theatre, Visitor Information Centre, Town Hall, Smithurst Theatre, the Creative Arts studio and meeting room as well as the Gunnedah Bicentennial Creative Arts Gallery.

Situated in the heart of Gunnedah’s thriving CBD, patrons to the centre can enjoy watching the latest blockbuster releases in comfort of the air-conditioned cinema with crystal clear picture and surround sound. The cinema program caters for a diverse audience with the inclusion of archival films and stage productions.

The centre is an excellent place for meetings, conferences, creative workshops, presentations and fundraiser events.

Within the centre, The Visitor Information Centre boasts a wealth of knowledge on the many culturally rich aspects of Gunnedah’s beautiful landscape and community engagement opportunities. It also houses a delightful pop-up library where visitors to the centre can tantalise their imaginations with a good read, courtesy of the Gunnedah Shire Library.

The Cultural Precinct is Gunnedah’s creatively rich hub for a wide range of community forums and local gatherings for lovers of Art, theatre and music alike.
