The Bingara Visitor Information Centre is more than just a centre for information, with an array of merchandise and unique souvenir items on offer ranging from local honey, jams, relishes, locally made cards, spice mixes, coffee beans as well as Roxy Milkshake containers and Roxy wine and spirit glasses to name a few. Bingara VIC is also the booking office or box office for not only Roxy performances and events, or North West Theatre Company Live Shows but also for numerous other community events from Workshops to Balls.
Visitors can tour refurbished 1930’s Art Deco theatre at 10.30am and again 2.30pm daily on weekdays or at once a day 10.30am on Saturday and Sunday, or by appointment. Whether you are a visitor or a local, Tourist Officer Jenny Mead with her team of volunteers is always pleased to welcome you into the centre for a chat or to give you the rundown on great places Bingara has to offer..

Complete brief description of your venue: The museum complex consists of 12 buildings the original Pioneer Cottage and Museum are the two front buildings. The Complex showcases the history of Walcha and surrounding districts, Included in the exhibits is a Tiger Moth plane used for crop dusting, horse drawn wagons both agricultural and private carriages. An original settlers cottage, wool hall and hospital and WW1 & 11 displays are part of the exhibits. The Pioneer Cottage was the home of the first Policeman for Walcha and shows how the family would have lived.

Opening in January 2011 the Yaama Ganu Centre houses an Aboriginal Art Gallery and café trading as Café Gali. The centre, located in Moree New South Wales, was co funded by Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES) and Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC). Under the guidance of project manager Sascha Estens and renowned Sydney restaurateur Toby Osmond, the centre offers hands on training to members of the local Indigenous community in all areas of hospitality.
The Yaama Ganu Gallery officially opened on the 31st of March with an exhibition of works Aboriginal Art from the Kamilaroi nation. Works were sourced from artists throughout the entire Kamailroi region including Walgett, Narrabri, Gunnedah, Boggabilla, Tamworth and of course, Moree. The Aboriginal Art Gallery has represented 25 Kamilaroi Artists from the region and the gallery will continue to exhibit and support Kamilaroi artists.
The gallery also sources its Indigenous art from remote Aboriginal communities nationwide. The art is purchased from Art Centres in WA, NT, SA and surrounding islands where selling art is often their only source of income. We have represented over 250 Indigenous Aboriginal artists from communities around Australia to date. We have put Moree on the ‘Aboriginal Art World’ map with our reputation growing and our name spreading throughout the region. "The centre's already provided a full tourist experience for passing travellers, and a fresh new face for the foodie scene for locals."

In 1996, Walcha Council was approached by Stephen King, a local farmer and sculptor, to collaborate with him to create a fountain sculpture for McHattan Park in the centre of town. The decision to accept his offer and install Walcha's first sculpture lead to the suggestion by Council to form the Walcha Arts Council to facilitate an ongoing public art program.
A plan was conceived and drawn up by the Walcha Arts Council and was adopted by Council into its 1998 Management Plan. The concept came to be known as the Open Air Gallery. Currently, the collection consists of 54 sculptures and artworks by local, national and international artists. Take a stroll around the streets and along the river to enjoy the wonderful variety of works on permanent public display.

Animals that intrigue us, items we don’t understand, objects that we perceive to be beautiful, quirky, dangerous, and different. The UNE Natural History Museum is a library of life; a place of activity, interaction and discovery. It serves as a reminder that there is no surrogate for real things. The most sophisticated computer graphics cannot replace the sense of wonder that comes with viewing the still remains of real animals, in all their extraordinary variety.

The Museum of Antiquities at the University of New England is the only regional ancient history and archaeology museum in Australia. The Museum encompasses an excellent selection of antiquities from the ancient Mediterranean and the Near East, complemented by objects and ethnographic material from Australia, South East Asia, New Guinea, the Pacific region, Mesoamerica and Africa. The Museum supports the teaching and research interests of UNE staff and students, and of scholars worldwide. It also engages the broader community in the history of peoples through the ages.
Signs for the University of New England are posted on the New England Highway bypass and at both highway entrances to Armidale. The UNE Visitor Information Centre on Elm Avenue can provide campus directions and parking information.

Thorungulla Studio is set in the Nandewar Range Looking over Mt Lindsay and Mt Kaputar.
Set in over 200ha of hills and valleys scattered with gum, iron bark and box trees. Wallabies, kangaroo, goats and deer roam the hills.
Karin is a muralist who has created a series of murals to enhance the surrounds. Drought arrived when we did and a constantly blooming rose garden that needs no water has appeal.
Karin works in acrylics depicting the beauty of the Australian bush that surrounds her. Sand paintings, pottery, terracotta sculptures, and poetry are also on the menu. The designing and creating of string theory stories is a labour of love.
Karin worked with a team in Lightning Ridge to create the aboriginal dreaming stories that were displayed at the MCA in 2015. Community murals where Karrin is the designer and the community are the artists. Participants learn colour techniques, perspective, and working as a team.
Plein Air art classes can be arranged by appointment.
Karin’s work is on display at the Claypan/Fuller Gallery in Barraba and the Gallery on Gwydir in Bingara.

The Australian Rail Monument is within the grounds of the Werris Creek Railway Station and is a memorial to those railway workers in Australia who died whilst at work on the railways. The memorial features six sculptures of different trades, designed and made by Dominique Sutton of Sydney.
The Rail Journeys Museum is housed in the Werris Creek Station Building, well-known in past years by travellers on the north and north western rail lines, as the Refreshment Room.
The museum is staffed by many volunteers and tells the stories of railway workers in days long gone.
The upstairs section of the Museum is now complete with many more exhibits to see and contains a magnificent model railway layout featuring Werris Creek. There is a lift for those that are not able to make the stairs.
The town of Werris Creek is also referred to as - The Town that never Sleeps, is the first and last town to be built in NSW for the railway and is strategically placed for the junctions required in the busy days of the railway.

The station was opened in 1886 by Lord Carrington, Governor of New South Wales and officially named "The Great Northern Terminus". It was described as being "one of the most extensive and handsome buildings on the Northern Line". One of a kind, the Railway museum features railway memorabilia, stunning platform gardens, heritage rail vehicles and a magnificent model railway display.

Tamworth Regional Gallery was established in 1919 and is one of the oldest regional galleries in New South Wales. The new Gallery is a large modern purpose built facility established in 2004.
Exhibitions change approximately every 6 weeks. Details of exhibitions are available on the website, by phone or email. Friends of the Gallery receive programs by post.
The two temporary exhibition spaces host a vibrant program of touring exhibitions of national significance, alongside curated exhibitions of regional artists. Exhibitions are also held featuring works from the Galleries' permanent collections.
The Gallery provides a wide and varied program of public events, exhibition openings, artist talks and workshops. The Esther Halliday Studio located at the Gallery is host to various ongoing art classes and workshops.

The first municipal street lighting in Australia commenced in Tamworth, New South Wales on 9th November 1888. The Tamworth Powerstation Museum opened in 1988; the first all electrical museum in Australia. It features displays recording the history of electricity and items reflecting the impact of the development of electricity on modern society.
The Museum include a replica of the first power station building which was constructed on the site in 1888. The original 1907 Showroom building has been refurbished to display a range of unique exhibits including a pictorial display about the early development of electricity.
The Tamworth Powerstation Museum Collection contains approximately 9,500 objects of historical, cultural, and social significance. The Museum’s displays chronicle the use of electricity in Australia and showcases innovations in electrical science and design from around the world. The diverse collection ranges from important artifacts and machinery spanning Australia’s industrialisation, as well as common household appliances from the twentieth century.
In 2010 the Museum was awarded National Significant Status for its collection and contribution to the history of electricity in Australia.
