Uralla Arts is a group of volunteers who have organised and hosted a music festival, lantern parades x 12, plays, and various music gigs over the years. We umbrella a poetry group as well as an art group. Uralla Arts was the key stakeholder in the Sculpture Project at the Glen. Our current main activities are hosting music events and a play.

The Alternate Root is a café located in the heart of Uralla. We serve breakfast and lunch every day.
On every last Friday of the month we become a live music venue and serve tapas for dinner.

Little Birdy

Little Birdy is a giftshop and emporium where you find 32 shops under one roof. We look after 32 local people and sell their antiques, collectables, handmade items and local products. We have a workshop area where we hold art classes and workshops for children and adults. This space can also be used for exhibitions. The stage area in this space creates a perfect music venue. We host live music now and then and even a mini festival.

Chaucer on Bridge Street Gallery

Chaucer on Bridge Street is a family owned and operated gallery displaying ceramics, paintings and textile work created by family members and other local artists. It was opened in 2000 by David Evans and since his death has been maintained by Helen and her son Michael. Michael makes as variety of crystalline ceramics including basins, birdbaths and water features as well as vases and mugs. On Saturdays he gives pottery classes in the gallery studio. Helen sews textile pictures and tactile books for young children. Examples of her work are on display. Some silver jewellery and Celtic jewellery is also available at the gallery.

McCrossin's Mill Museum

McCrossin's Mill Museum

This superbly restored three storey flour mill building houses a variety of unusual, sensitive, compelling, even humourous exhibitions and features "Thunderbolt..Life and Legend". Other highlights include "New Gold Mountain...The Chinese at Rocky River", "Corporal Cecil Stoker", "A Tribute to the Anaiwan", "Trickett's Triumph" and "Not in Their Father's Footsteps".

The ground floor features "The Death of Thunderbolt" Gallery, a set of nine superb Phillip Pomroy paintings depicting the notorious bushranger's last day. The Function Centre caters for weddings, parties, conferences, etc and the lovely gardens provide a beautiful venue for functions
in the warmer months.

Julia Hardman Orchard Studio

Julia Hardman Orchard Studio

The Orchard Studio is situated at Arding, an easy 20 minute drive from Armidale within an established garden and orchard. The venue comprises a studio/workshop for the artist and for art
students who attend a weekly workshop.

A gallery is also attached to the studio and displays the paintings of the artist. A variety of medium is presented including watercolours, oil and acrylic artworks.
